Aptia’s Local Authority Pensions Administration Summit 2026
An afternoon of insight and sector collaboration — hosted on the Thames
Tuesday 3 June 2026 | 12:00pm – 4:00pm
Driftwood Riverboat, Tower Bridge Quay,
We are thrilled to invite you to our inaugural Local Authority Pensions Administration Summit.
As administering authorities face increasing operational complexity, new legislative requirements and rising member expectations, this event will bring together sector experts to explore what the next phase of LGPS administration will look like and how best to prepare for it. We will have on board some of your fellow LGA pension experts that you know so well (Clair Alcock, Rachel Abbey and Sophia Chivandire (SAB)). The timings are as follows:
12.00pm Arrival: We will begin the afternoon with arrival, bowl food lunch and refreshments onboard the Driftwoods riverboat.
12.30pm Departure: A private Thames sailing, during which we will host our dedicated administration focused conference.
1.00pm Conference: The programme includes a keynote address from Guy Opperman, former Pensions Minister, alongside contributions from Clair Alcock, Head of Pensions at the LGA, and Richard Smith and MaPS, leading voices on the Pensions Dashboards and Brian Paterson from L&G.
3.00pm Peer networking: As we sail back towards Tower Bridge Quay, the session will continue with networking drinks and a guided Thames tour, offering further opportunity to discuss the themes of the afternoon and connect with peers.
4.00pm Disembark: We will return to the Tower Bridge Quay to disembark.
A full agenda will follow.
