Press Release
Aptia Group announces formal support for Re-Engage to support the elderly across the UK
Oct 21, 2024

London UK - October 21, 2024

Aptia Group (Aptia), the global provider of employee benefits and pensions administration services, has today announced a corporate partnership agreement with Re-engage, a provider of vital, life-enhancing social connections for older people in the UK.

This is the first charity partnership for Aptia since its formal launch earlier this year, and will see the firm support Re-engage financially, via employee engagement, in its marketing and promotions, and governance and reporting.

Re-engage was first created in 1965 after Trevor Lyttleton, now 88, launched the first tea party after encountering a lonely older woman in London. Today, almost 60 years on, Re-engage organises hundreds of tea parties for the elderly to meet, and has nearly 9,000 volunteers supporting around 7,000 older people through social events and call befriending services. Aptia is the largest private sector third-party pensions administrator in the UK and engages with hundreds of thousands of pensioners each year, many in vulnerable positions. While Re-engage is a charity that services the UK, this corporate partnership is part of Aptia’s global commitment to put purpose at the forefront of its strategy and day-to-day activities.

quote

Re-engage is an amazing charity that does fantastic work with the elderly throughout the UK. We’re incredibly proud to be able to support them and work closely to add value wherever we can, but also to learn, to better understand how we work with our communities and to ensure we are acting with purpose as an organisation.

Malcolm Reynolds

President UK and Portugal, Aptia

quote

We’re delighted that Aptia has chosen us for its first charity partnership which will help many older people who are lonely or isolated. Encouraging employees to support our cause is an important step that we hope will result in more long-term volunteers coming forward. These partnerships are vital if we are to continue to connect communities and we look forward to working with Aptia for some time to come.

Jenny Willott

CEO of Re-engage
