Aptia appoints Risk Transfer Proposition lead
Mar 25, 2026

Aptia, a leading provider of pension administration, consultancy and actuarial services, has appointed Jaysukh Shah to head its newly established Risk Transfer Proposition.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the pensions industry, Jaysukh has spent the past decade advising trustees and corporate sponsors on risk transfer strategies across schemes ranging from £1m to £1bn.

He brings extensive expertise in helping trustees manage defined benefit scheme risk and successfully deliver buy‑ins and buy‑outs. Prior to joining Aptia, Jaysukh held senior roles at PwC, Mercer and JLT.

Jaysukh Shah said: ‘I’m thrilled to be joining Aptia at such a pivotal moment in its growth. The market for risk transfer solutions is evolving rapidly, and trustees are looking for clear, strategic guidance rooted in robust data and practical experience.

‘I’m looking forward to supporting clients as they navigate risk management, improve data and investment efficiency, and plan effectively for their end‑game.’

Stuart Heatley, Consulting Leader at Aptia, added: ‘We’re delighted to welcome Jay to Aptia. His depth of experience and strong track record in delivering complex risk transfer projects will be invaluable as we expand our consulting and actuarial services.

‘Pension schemes are facing increasing demands, and Jay’s expertise will play a crucial role in helping trustees achieve the best possible outcomes for their members.’
