Our advice includes the setting of financial and demographic assumptions suitable for accounting purposes, completion of the necessary actuarial calculations and preparation of the key statements that must be reported. We also add value through consideration of developments and matters that could impact reported obligations and costs - for example, treatment of surplus, changes to accounting standards and key legal cases.

We support pension scheme sponsors with making sense of the full range of pension derisking and risk transfer solutions available in the market and the role that different solutions could play in reducing or fully removing pensions risk. Our approach starts with understanding the main objectives of the sponsor and assessing those in the context of how well funded and how 'transaction ready' the pension scheme is. This can include assessing and building plans for data readiness and rectification, tracing and investment strategy and engaging and working with the trustees. This approach can reduce transaction costs and ensure risks are transferred efficiently with minimised transaction risk.
