Aptia appoints Risk Transfer Proposition lead
Aptia, a leading provider of pension administration, consultancy and actuarial services, has appointed Jaysukh Shah to head its newly established Risk Transfer Proposition.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the pensions industry, Jaysukh has spent the past decade advising trustees and corporate sponsors on risk transfer strategies across schemes ranging from £1m to £1bn.
Aptia appoints Head of Market Relations
Aptia, a leading provider of pension administration, consultancy and actuarial services, has appointed Sarah Steel as Head of Market Relations.
Sarah brings more than 30 years of experience in the pensions sector, joining Aptia from NatWest Cushon where she served as Director of Corporate Relationships. Her career also includes senior roles at Aon and Hymans Robertson, alongside two years running her own company providing financial wellbeing services to a range of clients.
Government legislation update on retirement CDC schemes – Aptia reponds
The Pensions Minister, Torsten Bell, has confirmed that legislation enabling retirement CDC schemes will be brought forward as part of the government’s wider pensions reform agenda.
Responding to this, Malcolm Reynolds, Aptia’s UK President, said: ‘We welcome the Pensions Minister’s confirmation that legislation will be introduced later this year to allow retirement-CDC schemes. This builds on whole of life CDC regulations for non-associated multi-employer schemes which come into force in July.

Aptia appoints UK Pensions Communications Lead
Aptia, a leading provider of pension administration, consultancy and actuarial services, has appointed Steph Gold as its new UK Pensions Communications Lead.
Steph brings extensive experience in pension and benefits communications, specialising in strategic member and employee engagement programmes across a wide range of organisations.
She joins Aptia after nearly two decades at Barnett Waddingham, where she was Principal and Head of DrumRoll, the firm’s award winning communications consultancy. Prior to this, she held senior roles at Aon.
Aptia responds to Government consultation: Trust-based pension schemes - Trustees and governance, building a stronger future
Responding to the consultation, and in particular the question around pension scheme administration, Keith Everett of Aptia's Research & Technical Group said on mandatory minimum standards for administrators, "Unless a holistic approach was taken, there would be challenges in introducing additional standards into what is an already crowded landscape. Any new standards would have to be fully considered alongside existing regulatory requirements and current best practices. New standards developed in isolation would risk adding unnecessary duplication, cost and complexity."
